-AAKRITI THATAL
The street we used to walk in,
Has a new store, I gather
The café we sipped coffee in,
Now holds a new colour.
There are added shelves and drawers
In the kitchen we cooked.
And the dog now remembers
How I smell and look.
The seasons have changed manifold
The earth turned over.
Times five, already
The Trees have grown older,
Its shade now darker-
Cool to cold
Took not longer
Than the seasons changing
In the month of December.
The street we used to walk in,
Has a new store, I gather
The café we sipped coffee in,
Now holds a new colour.
There are added shelves and drawers
In the kitchen we cooked.
And the dog now remembers
How I smell and look.
The seasons have changed manifold
The earth turned over.
Times five, already
The Trees have grown older,
Its shade now darker-
Cool to cold
Took not longer
Than the seasons changing
In the month of December.
